Jon Bon Jovi Dela Cruz

        At a young age, I've always enjoyed solving mathematical problems in school using pen and paper. I also believe that data literacy is one of the skills that every modern individual should have. These were the passions that motivated me to pursue an undergraduate degree in statistics. For me, working with statistical data through their collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation allows to see the bigger picture to a rather vague set of tables, strings, or numbers.

        Another thing I'm passionate about is designing, specifically layout or graphic designing. In my previous school organization, UP Statistical Society, I've led multiple teams assigned in publicity materials for our events and initiatives such as statistical literacy awareness projects. Mixing that with my love of data, we have data visualization, which is another favorite of mine.

        Throughout my academic pursuits, I expanded my knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics. These include different forms of data analysis such as regression, multivariate, categorical data, exploratory, time series, etc. Furthermore, I am technically proficient in numerous statistical tools such as R, SQL, SAS, Spreadsheets, and Tableau, among others.

        Currently, I’m focused on leveling up my expertise in the data analytics field. One way for me to accomplish this is by doing projects and case studies that showcase different approaches of analysis and visualization across tools and data types.
